A growing season that was moderately warm with a very extended and warm September and October. Wines were harvested 1 to 2 weeks later than typical. Wines show the huge structure and power of Red Mountain. Wines in their youth were very bold and rustic but with bottle age may be the vintage of the decade. Wines still are showing very young and bright with lots of aging potential ahead. The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the high calcium carbonate content that whitens soils of our Red Mountain vineyard and helps produce the incredible depth and structure in the grapes. The first grapes were harvested from our estate vineyard in 1997
