Product Description
The very warm growing season in 2000 provided additional stress to keep the berry size tiny resulting in intense depth and structure in the fruit. The long warm days and cool nights, typical in the Red Mountain Appellation, combined with calcium carbonate rich soils to produce intense black fruit. Low crop levels of less than two tons per acre produce intense, concentrated fruit with ripe flavors and dark colors. The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the high calcium carbonate content that whitens soils of our Red Mountain vineyard and helps produce the incredible depth and structure in the grapes. The first grapes were harvested from our estate vineyard in 1997
